Hamner Spring camp

On Monday T1 and T2 We all meet in the tech center then we got into our cars and went to camp at Hanmer Springs it took 2 hours and 45

DAY 1

When we first got there we went to out cabin and it was only me and Allie in room M8. Then we did our activity. I was group 1 we did mountain biking. I was not ready for it but I still did it after that we went to the hot pools. I mostly went in the hot pool the Hydroslide. I went it sometimes I got cold real quick. After that we had tea we had Spaghetti bolognese. It was really nice. Then we had dessert we had ice cream and fruit salad so nice. Then we had  to get in our cabin and relax and no spotlight boo.

DAY 2

In the morning we went to have breakfast then get dress then do our morning stuff then we did our next activity it was orienteering. We had to get a map and had to find the codes for points we didn't go to well. After that we went back to the camp with hurting legs. Then we had lunch then went to the hot pool So fun but cold. Then we did the next activity we did cemetery and statues. We walk to the cemetery it was cool to see the older person and the youngest person. Then we drove to the statues that was cool there was a eagle two badgers and some rats that was so cool then we went the wrong corner then we got lost we went back to camp gone to the hot pools still so cold then we  had tea and we had devil sausages with plain rice the dessert we had Lava chocolate cake and ice cream then we went to sleep

Tree climbing it looks fun but when you get on it gets hard I was up high then I looks down my legs were shaking

LAST DAY

We woke up we had breakfast morning stuff we did out last activity Conical Hill. It was fun going down the hill not coming up the hill. Me and Finn picked up porcupines. There were so many small ones. When we got up at the top of the hill it looked so pretty blue sky big mountains birds chirping and the pretty sun shining. Then we went to the lollies shop we only had to spend 5 dollars other people brought like 20 or more money then we went back to the camp and headed home.

My favourite part of camp was hot pools and Conical Hill not going up going down

Thelma Eakins the Arthor of the Mine afire comes to Grey main school

Today Wednesday 27th of march Thelma Eakins if you are wondering who the hell is Thelma Eakins she is one of the Author of the mine afire. She came to Grey Main School we were so excited Thelma Eakins to came we already made a doc for Questions like what year did you publish the book to tell her I really liked her showing  us the safety lamp and the statue it is so heavy the lamp is so cool. This week in T2 we have been reading some part in a book called The Mine's Afire! You should watch my side my teacher choose the some questions for our class we all chooses different thing. He doesn't have  nice clothes,  shoes, food/fruit and money like  2019 we have everything but 1896 they hardly have money and food.

This week T2 have been reading this book The Mine's Afire! but we have just read the part on the back historical notes. Look at my slide I made. The teacher chose the questions and the class had to quickly read it to find out the answers.

The second day of Prep 2018 Grey main school

On Tuesday September  17 2018

Grey Main is doing a Prep program that the whole school gets in to groups and plan what they are going to make and what are you going to apply to a worker,warehouse,Rata helper,pohutukawa helper,CEO.

First there is the mini market and big market mini market  that you can sell some of your items and big market is where you can even order some item from mini market and get it from big market.

We had to make a journal about how it was and what you did and rate it up to ten.

I am a helper in Rata we have been going windmills and spinning tops with the spinning tops we will be decorating them then sell them the class with the most money from prep.

The Marae visit Lavinia

Tuesday 14th 2018
M3 went to the Marae with T2 P3 R4. When we got there we had to walk slowly into the Arahura Marae because it is showing respect to the ancestors. The people of the Marae call out to us to greet us. When we come up to the wharenui we need to walk on the left of the post and take our shoes of to show respect. Then we do the hongi so how you do it you shake there hands and then do nose to nose i know it sounds weird  that means for them  we came in peace. My favourite part was the food was delicious because you get one hot food one apple and a piece of cake. I also liked how in the wharenui on the roof there were lights that changed colour.
